He became a Duster and figured out that Asylum was trying to destroy the Duster ring (one of the three regions of Decoy city). Even though he didn't trust anyone, he tried to help in the fight against the cyborgs known only as “seekers” created by non-other than everyone’s favorite government Asylum.
The main story of the game is about Jack's struggle to overthrow Asylum and to avenge his wife and son's death by killing his enigmatic boss known as Mr. Jericho. The main enemies of the game are the monstrous Seekers, cyborgs created by Asylum, that can only be killed by either a clean head shot or dismemberment.
Even though Jack distrusts humanity, he rescues a teen called Donny Williams who is “new” to Decoy City so he has no idea what's going on. Jack reluctantly agrees to protect him. It becomes apparent through the game that Donny is somehow connected to the Seekers and after he gets shot in the head by a Barret 50 cal sniper Jack finds out that Donny is a Seeker himself.

To him, the Dusters were nothing but the dirt under his shoe. He doesn’t even care for his own military force, they’re just sacrificial pawns to him. He kills his personnel and turns them into Seekers. When Jack started to disobey orders he became enraged, after all… one of his most elite was going against him. Mr. Jericho decided to punish him by forcing him to watch as his family was killed right in front of him. Hoping this would only whip Jack into line, Jack rebelled and fled to the Duster ring. Mr. Jericho claimed it was an unforgivable act and ordered his entire military force to shoot him dead on sight. A year passed without so much as a single peep from Jack so he thought that Jack must have been killed until the Resistance started to move with Jack Alphard on the front line with a Seeker Mk 2 prototype at his side. Linsenette (Lin) was born into the well renowned Albright households, her father was the CEO of Albright Industries (an Asylum owned electrics producer) and was very wealthy. During the Civil war Lin started to see the bad side of Asylum and started talking badly about Asylum. Her mother and father hated her for it and after the war was over they cast her out onto the streets. She fled to the Duster ring and ran face first into a mysterious boy who claimed he was homeless too. After she asked what happened to him she found out his name was Jack Alphard and that his parents were in the Resistance force that rebelled against Asylum. She thought he was oddly calm about the whole thing but he said he was taught that “War was war, there’s no changing it” The Duster ring still played host to the surviving Dusters of the Civil war but it was a complete wreck. Most of the fighting had taken place in this ring of Decoy city. She took refuge in an abandoned apartment complex, or at least she thought it was abandoned, it turned out to be the home to the leader of the Resistance and some of his top men. Being only 12, the leader, known only as Jay, felt sorry for Lin and took her under his wing and trained her to be a fighter and a survivalist. By the time she was 18 she had established herself in the highest circle of the resistance hierarchy. Before long she took Jay’s place as Leader after he died on a raid. A few years passed and out of nowhere she was reunited with Jack, her childhood friend who she heard was an elite in Asylum’s military force. Could this be a blessed meeting or a cursed reunion?
