My name is Jack Alphard, I used to be a Mercenary - an elite solider in Asylum's army - but that was before my family was killed for no good reason. I decided to leave... or escape is more fitting to the situation.
My parent's were part of the Resistance force back in the Cilval war between the lower class citizens - now known as Dusters - and Asylum. My Mom and Dad were part of a small four man stealth squad that specialized in infiltration. They were given intel that a key Comms tower for Asylum was under maintenance as was going to be without guard for up to two hours. The intel was off, the tower was only without guard for ten minutes. My Mom and Dad were slaughtered there and then... leaving me to fend for my self at the age of ten.
I don't know why I joined the Asylum military, it just kind of happened... I didn't really feel anything bad towards Asylum, after all war is war, there was no changeing it. I joined Asylum at the age of 18 and quickly climbed in rank. At the age of 20 I met Lucy, my future wife. When I became a Mercenary at the age of 25 we got married. Shortly after that Asylum started to change it's methods of protecting Decoy city, they introduced things called Seekers. I didn't like them, I don't trust robots. I started to ask questions that everyone said was dangerous. At the age of 27 I came home one day after work to find my wife and 10 year old boy tied up with... my friends standing over them holding automatic rifles. They proclaimed that my insubordination caused this and opened fire on my family.
Up to this day I'm a changed man, I hate humanity. I live in the Duster ring of Decoy city - The ghetto's where the survivors of the Dusters who faught in the civil war live - in a small section called "The Thorn's Edge" known for the old Bar that used to be here befor the Civil war. Now I've somehow been dragged into another Rsistance by a certain annoying little Twerp who calls himself Donny!
I hope I don't die from this little Resistance...
